Jake is an almost 5 year-old Wire Hair Fox Terrier. He began working at A Placid Life in our very first week of business - auditioning as our Greeter. We quickly learned that his desire to watch the Main Street goings on from our storefront window was a great benefit. Passersby couldn't tell if he was real or stuffed, and certainly couldn't resist coming in to meet him.

Jake quickly jumped ranks and became A Placid Life's Chief Marketing Officer. Visitors and locals alike, after just one trip up Main Street when Jake's been working, know exactly who he is when he steps out for a quick jog. Jake certainly has many more friends than his parents, and there are many people who make multiple trips a day to come see him when he's in.

Jake Placid Doghouse is located in the original storefront of A Placid Life our Life is good® Genuine Neighborhood Shoppe.

When we outgrew our original space and moved up the street 5 doors, we were in a conundrum over what to do with our original store. We had made it a labor of love less than a year earlier. We didn’t need to think very hard to land on what is important in our lives. Aside from spreading good vibes with Life is good - it was an easy answer - our dog Jake.

To reward Jake for his stellar performance as our CMO, we decided to open Jake Placid Doghouse, a place where you can find "Stuff that makes dogs happy." and stuff for cats too! Jake paw-picks sweet treats, super-premium, organic and holistic foods, unique and hard-to-find toys and apparel (including Yankees jerseys, collars and leashes) and so much more!

We hope you'll swing on by and say "hi!" to Jake in the window when he's in town!
